The Heart Work Behind the Level Up Leadership Lab New Orleans

Tyneeta leading a leadership workshop on Day 2 of the Level Up Leadership Lab NOLA

Wow. Where do I even start? Last week, the Level Up Leadership Lab New Orleans wrapped up, and let me tell you, it was nothing short of phenomenal. After a year of planning, dreaming, and designing every detail, this three-day leadership experience finally came to life—and it happened exactly how I imagined. Can I say how proud I am?

When I first got the idea to create the Level Up Leadership Lab New Orleans, I knew it was more than just another conference or workshop. It was divinely inspired. I wanted to craft an experience that would challenge leaders to dig deeper, push boundaries, and truly connect with their purpose. And what better place to do that than New Orleans? My hometown, with its rich culture, soul-stirring history, and undeniable energy, provided the perfect backdrop for a transformational journey. Listen, I’m not exaggerating when I say the energy throughout the event was transformational. I'm proud!

We kicked off the Lab with a rooftop happy hour on a beautiful New Orleans evening, setting the stage for open conversations and the beginning of meaningful relationships. The backdrop of the city skyline, mixed with our black and gold attire, laughter, shared experiences, and a few cocktails, was the perfect way to start.

Why the Level Up Leadership Lab New Orleans is Unlike Anything Else

We all know leadership isn't just about calling the shots. It’s about resonating—with your people, with your mission, and with the change you want to create. And that's exactly what we did last week. We didn’t just talk about leadership; we embodied it.

The Lab focused on emotional intelligence—all within the context of real-world challenges and social justice issues. These ideas are the foundation for creating a leadership style that’s not only impactful but sustainable and equitable. New Orleans provided the perfect context for discussions on equity, power, and social justice, and our attendees were fully present—ready to engage and grow.

We explored how to reimagine leadership from an equity-driven lens. Participants supported each other as they came up with innovative solutions to their real challenges, all while considering how historical context shapes the way we lead today. It was a powerful reminder that leadership isn't just about personal growth—it's about lifting others, dismantling oppressive systems, and creating space for everyone to thrive.

Why You Need to Be at the Level Up Leadership Lab New Orleans in 2026

Imagine being surrounded by like-minded leaders who get it—leaders who are committed to making a real impact, just like you. We didn’t shy away from the hard stuff. We leaned into it. The discussions were real, the breakthroughs were tangible, and the connections we built. Those are lasting.

If you missed the 2024 Lab, I’m telling you right now—you do NOT want to miss 2026. Here's why:

  1. New Orleans is a City Like No Other – The food, the people, the spirit of celebration—it’s all here. But New Orleans is also a city shaped by resilience, by inequities that still persist, and by a rich history that we cannot ignore. Utilizing my partnerships with New Orleans' best culture bearers, we dive into this context, using it as a framework for the type of leadership that breaks barriers and builds a future rooted in justice.

  2. A Leadership Experience Like No Other – This isn't your typical sit-down-and-listen conference. You will be fully immersed in scenarios that push you to apply leadership principles in real-time. We’ll take on the complexities of equity, emotional intelligence, and power dynamics, all while ensuring you leave with actionable strategies to implement in your organization or community.

  3. A Space to be Seen and Heard – One of the most powerful aspects of the Lab is the space we create. As leaders, finding a community where we feel fully seen and supported is crucial. That’s exactly what happens here. Attendees leave not just with new skills but with a network of people who will have their back long after the event is over.

  4. Real Transformation – We’re not just about theory. You will leave with tangible tools to level up your leadership, expand your emotional intelligence, and step into your power. Whether you're leading a team, running a business, or advocating for change, this experience will shift the way you approach your work.

  5. It’s FUN – Yes, we dig deep, but we also celebrate the journey. From rooftop happy hours to delicious meals to the unbeatable New Orleans vibe, you’ll leave feeling recharged, inspired, and ready to take on the world. The connections you make here will fuel you for years to come.

There's no party like a New Orleans party!

A Transformational Journey Awaits

The 2024 Lab was a powerful reminder that leadership is about showing up authentically, staying open to growth, and pushing ourselves to lead with equity and compassion. As I plan for 2026, I’m more excited than ever to continue building this community of leaders who are ready to step into their next level.

If you’re looking for a place where your leadership can truly grow, where you can build deep connections with other leaders, and where you’ll be challenged to expand your thinking—Level Up Leadership Lab New Orleans 2026 is where you need to be.

I'll open applications in January 2025. Apply here to stay in the loop, because I promise you, you don’t want to miss it.
